Pete Grassby has been a regular performer on the folk scene in Coventry and beyond since the early 70’s both as a solo performer and the leader of the Aardvark Celilidh Band.

Formed 15 years ago by harmonica ace Ted Crum, Steamchicken are heard mostly playing for dancing. Their music has been described as “rockabilly meets New Orleans, with saxes, harmonica and mandolin swapping lead lines.

A legend of the British folk scene. He’s been a professional performer since 1966.His songs have been played by an enormous number of other performers and he’s made 15 albums, with songs like “Soldier”, “Gift Of A Brand New Day”,“Boothferry Bridge”, “Margarita” and so many others.

are Vere Foster: fiddle, mandoline and guitar; Ian Wilson: accordion concertina, octave mandolin & cittern; Joan Smith: keyboards; Ray Jane: bass,guitar, flutes and whistles. The name of the band is taken from the character in many mummers’ plays and gives rise to their slogan “devilish good music.”

We don’t often re-book guests within a year but for Miriam Backhouse we make an exception. Her repertoire includes variety of traditional songs, ones from the 60s and 70s and some self-penned material. These covered aspects of life in South Africa and recollections of growing up in Sussex. Miriam also includes some “Good Old Songs Which You Don’t Hear Nowadays.

Mick Ryan is a fine singer of traditional & original songs. He was described by "Folk Roots" as 'The most underrated singer in the country.' Paul’s background includes working with Phil Beer, The Arizona Smoke Revue, Pete Seeger and The Joyce Gang. Nine albums with bands, four highly acclaimed solo albums and over two hundred session credits have still left time for Paul to tour every concert venue, theatre and festival in Britain plus many tours in the USA and Europe. What a combination!

Alfresco are Dave Fry (12 string guitar and vocals) and Keith Adams (mandolin and vocals) - both have long experience of captivating audiences. Their wide repertoire includes lively tunes, and songs by Richard Thompson and Ron Trueman-Border (among others)
